The mapping project, “A Century of Expeditions: 1904 – 2016” was begun by Chase Caldwell Smith, the current president of CUEX, to start making the locations and achievements of our expeditions accessible to a wider audience. The project aims to pinpoint the locations of as many CUEX expeditions as possible over the past century, categorizing them by type, and then plotting them onto a publicly accessible map with brief summaries.
The project is part of an ongoing effort to engage with and organize our archival paper trail, which extends back decades, and which is scattered in various locations around Cambridge. The map will act as a kind of summary of our findings.
Keep updated as more and more expeditions are plotted on the map! If you'd like to see a full-screen version, click on the icon in the upper-right corner of the map.
